Tanya’s Tip of the Week: Weigh It Out!

Yes, I know it’s tedious to weigh food, but you might be overestimating your food amounts without realizing it. You might also be UNDERestimating your intake. Either way, you can easily fall off track without even realizing it!

I always encourage my clients to use a kitchen scale to weigh certain foods. It’s the safest way to ensure you’re sticking to your regimen. That doesn’t mean weighing ALL your food and it doesn’t mean weighing food all the time. Set mental markers for yourself each time you weigh something specific. So if an ounce of chicken is the size of your palm, you’ll know for next time so you can eyeball the amounts in the future. Remember to refresh your memory from time to time as well.
