Tanya’s Tip of the Week: Weigh It Out!

Yes, I know… It’s a tedious task to weigh food but you may be regularly overestimating your food intake without realizing it. You might also be UNDERestimating your intake. Either way, you can easily fall off track without even realizing it!

I always encourage my clients to use a kitchen scale to weigh certain foods. It’s the safest bet to ensure you’re sticking to your regimen. That doesn’t mean that you will be weighing ALL your food and it doesn’t mean you will be weighing food all the time.

Set mental markers for yourself each time you weigh something specific. So if an ounce of chicken is the size of your palm, you’ll know for next time so you can eyeball the amounts in the future. Remember to refresh your memory from time to time as well.
