Berries– Aside from being DELICIOUS, berries such as raspberries, blueberries and strawberries contain natural antioxidants that promote fertility in women AND men.
Walnuts- An excellent source of Omega-3 fats that can make for a great alternative to fish.
Wild Salmon- An excellent source of Omega-3 which is helpful for hormones. It’s also been known to help regulate menstrual cycles.
Dark leafy greens- Choose the darker, leafy greens for some iron which is important for your cycle. These greens are healthy, delicious and promote healthy egg development as well as ovulation.
Lean meats- Chicken, turkey and beef are all an excellent source of iron. Now keep in mind that overdoing your protein intake can have the opposite effect but as long as you pace yourself, lean meats should help boost that fertility.
Lentils- These little bean things are packed with iron, fiber, folate and more healthy nutrients. Folate promotes the production of healthy embryos and is important for conception.
Quinoa– Folate and zinc can be found in quinoa which are both important for reproduction. Because it takes longer to digest due to the high fiber content, quinoa keeps you fuller for longer which enables your blood sugar to stabilize for longer. When your sugar levels shift, it can throw your hormones through a loop.
