Myth or Fact: You Should Work Out Every Single Day

This is a myth!

When you’re working out, you’re breaking down muscle fibers so they can rebuild stronger. However, to do this, you need to give your body time to recover from working out. Aim for one to two days a week of active recovery rest days which means doing something that doesn’t put stress on your body, like gentle stretching, or even a walk.

In case you think this is only about injury, it’s not! It’s also about results. Your toning and muscle-building workouts will be more effective with some rest days in between.

So yes, take a day off (or two)!
