Myth: If I don’t eat during the day, I will eat less at night.
Fact: In actuality, by starving yourself throughout the day or eating incorrectly and minimally, you’re setting yourself up to overeat at night.
In fact, when your diet is poor and irregular, you cause transitions in your blood sugar that can even cause you to wake up at night with cravings.
There are all sorts of factors that can cause nighttime eating including hormones, environment and some studies show that midnight binging can be genetic too! Hopefully it’s just a matter of proper dieting so start by applying a healthy diet and lifestyle which will help regulate your food intake as well as your hunger and cravings.
Happy Monday myth!
