“I don’t have the right equipment”
“I have kids to look after”
These are just a few of many excuses, and there are answers to all of these excuses, which I will share with you shortly. But the real question here is not what the answers are to the questions, it’s whether or not you want to hear those answers. Ask yourself if your lack of motivation is causing you to make these excuses, because the truth is, you are capable of only as much as you think you are. Making a workout routine that works for you might be a challenge, but you’ll never know unless you make it a priority to try.
Time is something none of us have, especially with kids around and especially nowadays when everyone is in the house. Yes, time is not going to present itself to you, you are going to have to set some aside for yourself, but you are worth it. You can even get your kids to join in your workouts if you can’t find something to keep them occupied with. As per the gym equipment, there are plenty of workouts that don’t include any equipment! You can even do resistance training using just your body weight- commonly known as calisthenics. Find a video or DVD that works for you, or even get a personal trainer one time in order to get an idea of what you can do on your own.
Just remember, the first step is making the commitment to stop making excuses and start trying to make it work!
